Melodic Death Metal from Virtual Realms

Killing Darlings is a virtual melodic metal band consisting of Buziraco (vocals), Jude (guitars), Juuso (bass) and Kimi (drums). These four metalheads live across the globe and embrace the virtual realms to bring their music to the melodic metal fans around the world. Their debut single ‘Death by Death’ draws inspiration from the Nordic metal giants such as Amorphis, Dark Tranquility, Insomnium and In Flames and was mixed and mastered by Chris Clancy (e.g. Machine Head, Kill The Lights, Kataklysm).

‘Death by Death’ deals with a personal loss. Jude from Killing Darlings shares the background of the lyrics: “My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease last year. After hearing the news I was doing online research and one article mentioned that Alzheimer's feels like going through multiple deaths as the patient fades away step by step, first losing their memory, then their personality and their physical abilities. This song is about me coming to terms with eventually losing my father - death by death.”

Killing Darlings teamed up with a Colombian production company Sharpball to create a fully animated music video for ‘Death By Death’. In the video, a squad of elite special ops enters a post apocalyptic warzone to rescue a hostage, but the mission is compromised when unsettling visions begin to distort each soldier’s reality. “I was impressed by their animation work for a Grammy winning artist Draco Rosa and heard that the guys are actually metalheads so it was a perfect match. If you pay attention, you’ll find a few clues within the music video story connecting back to Alzheimer’s as well” - Jude continues.
